Gets Me Everytime...

I love music. I love the power it has to completely change your mood. Not to get all spiritual on you but...

I was having kind of a rough day today, so I thought I would put on some good ol' Mormon Tabernacle Choir (MoTab) to lift my mood.

I don't know what it is about the song "I Believe in Christ" but it seriously gets me every time. Every time we sing it in church, I end up teary eyed, like a goober. It is just so powerful and makes me feel so at Peace and firm in what I believe. I especially love the third and fourth verses:

I believe in Christ – my Lord, my God!
My feet he plants on gospel sod. I’ll worship him with all my might; He is the source of truth and light.
I believe in Christ; he ransoms me!
From Satan’s grasp he sets me free. And I shall live with joy and love In his eternal courts above.
I believe in Christ; he stands supreme!
From him I’ll gain my fondest dream. And while I strive through grief and pain, His voice is heard;
“Ye shall obtain.”
I believe in Christ; so come what may!
With him I’ll stand in that great day, When on this earth he comes again To rule amoung the sons of men.

Here's to music making me feel a hundred ba-jillion times better than I did

One of Those Days

You ever just have one of those days? Like no matter how hard you work, or what you do, it doesn't matter? There will just be a nay sayer, or someone who throws you under the bus, or someone who doesn't appreciate your efforts? Do you ever feel like you are the only one who cares or puts effort into anything?

I wonder a lot why I care so much about succeeding, and why I seem to care more than other people.  Am I the only one who thinks it is considerate to help other people with their parts of the project, even though I don't have to? Everyone just seems to have the attitude: I did my part. I'm done. That is not group work. That is not being part of a team.

I think people know that I care and know that I pay attention to due dates and know that I will do anything (as long as its ethical) to get a great product ready to turn in, so they just let me do it. They also know that no matter how stressed I am or how much I have to do, they can slack and I will make up for it because I want to succeed. Isn't that a catch 22?

Sorry for my rantings. It's just been one of those days. I just wish someone else would care as much as I do. (Also...Aunt Flo's visit is imminent...maybe another contributing factor to my emotions. TMI? Sorry)

Now for some positive things:
I graduate in April
I love Mark alot!
I am physically healthy (mentally healthy too...on most days hehe)
My drive to succeed is a good thing...just frustrating at times
I have the Gospel in my life :)
I live in America
I have great in-laws
I have had the opportunity to gain an excellent education
Fall leaves are pretty!
It's holiday season!

Okay. I feel better. Thanks for letting me rant. I'm done.
