A beuatifully wonderful epiphany!!!

MARK IS DONE WITH SCHOOL ON FRIDAY!!!

This will be the first time since we have been married that we will not be in school!!! That means play play play play for us!!! (and I guess work now and then)

Agenda:
Canada trip! <----soooo excited
Houston trip! <----equally excited!
And tons and tons of summer adventures like mountain biking and hiking and camping (thanks to the tent my dad got for us!!!)

Side note: I made the most amazing budget for Mark and me! not to toot my own horn...but toot toot! I made it in excel and even used sumif formulas and what not to get accurate numbers! yippee! It feels oober good to have a plan.

Of course those of you who know me know that I am a plan kind of girl...It drives me crazy to not have a plan for the future. Like when Mark took his sweet time to propose...and I couldn't figure out if we were getting married in December or April or how to plan my life etc etc etc haha.

Don't get me wrong...I love being spontaneous...but not with huge decisions/plans.

Anyways...I have rambled enough...just my thoughts for the day...riveting, I know.

Things Lost, Things Gained

So the past three years have brought about billions of changes in my life it seems like. Some things bring remorse, others joy.

Things Lost:
I feel as if I have lost my two best friends, Amanda and Michelle. Amanda and I were bff's since K-garden and Michelle and I were bff's since 6th grade. The three of us were the three muskateers. We made it through the tough teenage years together. We were always there for each other and had too many adventures for me to count...here are just a few: mudding almost every weekend, fireworks, bonfires, country dancing, stadium trespassing, slumber parties, football games, senior year (a-squad)

It is true we had our ups and downs, but those two girls mean more to me than a lot of people will ever know or understand, including them.

Amanda went to LSU and Michelle to A&M. They still get to see each other often due to their close proximity to one another, but I think me being in Utah shut off the link to me.

For some reason we just slowly stopped keeping in contact, I guess due to our different lifestyles.

It has been hard realizing that this is just part of growing up, but I can't help but get a little tug at my heart anytime I see anything about them on facebook or think of all the memories we shared. So here's to you Amanda and Michelle. Love you guys.

Things gained:

My freshman year I learned more about myself and what I can do than any other time in my life. I had never had to make friends because for as long as I could remember, I had Amanda and Michelle by my side. I learned to reach out of my comfort zone and meet new people. I learned I could handle a life-changing/threatening accident by myself, without the nearby support of family or friends. I lost old friends, but I have gained new ones. No one will ever replace those two girls, but at least the void is being filled.
Besides new amazing friends, I found a husband. Mark is my very best friend in the whole wide world. He is always there for me and I know that he will never leave me. He will be by my side for the challenging years to come. I love him more and more everyday. So here's to an accident that actually saved my life, new friends, and the most amazing man in the world for a husband.

Melissa, Nicole, Mark, Willi, Amby, some of the most important people to me :)

While I could look back and wish I could go back to the days of yore, I know I have to look to the future, look to new experiences, new friends, new challenges, a new life. It's time to let go. It will be great :)

RAR!

So this whole surgery thing was just an awful idea. I feel so frustrated! I am recovering a lot slower than I thought I would. It is super hard for me to just sit around. I have tried going back to work the past few days but have only been able to stay a few hours. I just want to be productive. Furthermore, it is summertime and all I want to do is PLAY. RAR. I should be out camping and mountain biking and swimming and hiking and I'm stuck on this stupid couch. I am frustrated! I want to be able to stand up and not hurt and I would really appreciate it if my stomach stopped hurting 24/7.

I guess I shouldn't be such a brat and I should be grateful that modern medicine can heal me, but it is hard. I try to keep a positive, patient attitude, but it is getting harder and harder. Laci+no fun+sitting on a couch= :(

I guess I have to keep praying for patience and realize I am not superwoman and I am not going to be healed in a week...

Hey mom, look at what I can do!

I am so domestic. That is all I have to say about this. I made it myself! (with a little help from Tammy, the best mother-in-law in the world) It is a temple bag for my temple dress! TADAAAAAAAA

Before :)

After! (it stretches out so it can hang up in my locker)

But it folds up too so it is easy to carry and travel with!!!
So this thing was TONS of fun to make (photos are compliments of Marky since I can't exactly move right now thanks to my surgery...but that's another story entirely.)
